Businesses in Salford have access to a range of business support services. Support is not only available to attract businesses to the city, but also to assist new and existing businesses to expand, grow and re-invest.

The business liaison team should be your first port of call. We don’t provide all the help directly ourselves, but we do offer you a single point through which you can access a wide range of specialist business support services. Here’s what we and our partner organisations can do for you:

* Give you information on grants and funding
* Help you to improve your business premises or find new premises
* Provide you with support to market your products or services and to export

Specific support available to you includes:

Sites and premises searches

The city council owns and manages a number of small industrial estates in Salford, Swinton and Patricroft. The estates contain units ranging in size from 46.5 sq.m. to 599 sq.m., which can be let on flexible terms with incentives – see Business Properties to Let.

Alternatively using the MIDAS property database, sites and premises that meet your specific business needs can be identified. Staff can arrange visits to properties and put you in touch with the relevant agent. You can also fill out our online form.

Inward investment support


Businesses will be given a helping hand through the relocation process, with the council’s economic development officers being a central point of contact. Information on the local economy, urban market and the local facilities can be provided to assist businesses with their feasibility studies on expansion or relocation.

Presentations and tours can also be arranged to sites and premises.
