About Chapel Street Business Watch

Business watch has become a term used to describe a group of businesses that have formed a group with the common aim of reducing crime, a form of community-based crime prevention initiative.

Chapel Street Business Watch will operate as a Business Crime Reduction Partnership. The scheme provides a way for businesses to quickly and effectively alert fellow businesses, or the relevant authorities, to suspicious or potentially criminal activity.

Membership of the group is open to all businesses within the area defined by Salford Central URC as the Chapel Street/Crescent area.

The scheme is supported by the Chapel Street Business Group and Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce as well as Greater Manchester Police and Salford City Council. We aim to to prevent crime and improve security through forming relationships with partner members, including Greater Manchester Police, Salford City Council & Salford Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership.

This website provides a secure facility for reporting and logging crimes and suspicious activity in and around the Chapel Street/Crescent area and will become a facility for intelligence and knowledge sharing. However it should not be used as an alternative to reporting incidents to the police.
