Prime Ministers Initiative II Programme
13/07/2009
The British Council (BC) has just announced a new call for International Mobility of UK Students through the Prime Minister’s Initiative 2 Programme. The aim of the International Mobility of UK Students scheme is to encourage more UK students to gain an international dimension in their education by spending a period of time overseas. BC aims to create a number of models of student mobility programmes to share with the sector.
BC would particularly favour applications with China (including Hong Kong), India, Malaysia, and South Korea. Vietnam, and Thailand are also eligible as second tier. Through these programmes BC are keen to stimulate a strong and sustainable set of programmes to encourage UK students to study internationally. BC would hope that such programmes will also lead to two way student exchanges.
Projects must see a minimum of 5 outgoing students, although larger groups are encouraged. Visits must be a minimum of 1 month’s duration. Finances available will be up to a maximum of £800 per student; these funds can be used to contribute to travel, accommodation and living costs.
Deadline for Applications is 18th September 2009. For more information, the guidelines and the application form, please visit www.britishcouncil.org/learning-pmi2-he-funding-opportunities.htm
