Eco-Innovation Projects

The European Commission has announced the availability of around €30m in funding for eco-innovation projects. The eco-innovation fund aims specifically to reduce the ecological footprint of European industry, and is addressed mainly to organisations that have developed an environmental product, service, management practice or process which has a proven track record, yet is not fully marketed due to residual risks. The priority areas of this call for proposals are
• innovative, environmental-friendly projects in the area of; materials recycling; sustainable buildings;
• food and drink industrial processes;
• and green business & smart purchasing.
This call is open to all legal persons, but priority will be given to Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs). Clusters of applicants and projects which demonstrate a European added value and have a high potential for market replication are strongly encouraged. The deadline for applications is the 10th September 2009.
