Chief Executive

16/10/2009

Chief Executive

Up to £40k per annum (pro-rata)

20-25 hours per week

Based: Salford

Moneyline Greater Manchester (the trading name of Salford Moneyline Limited) is entering one of the most exciting phases in its history.

One of the UK’s first Community Development Finance Institutions (CDFI’s), we provide fair loans to local residents and businesses that are otherwise unable to access traditional forms of lending from high street banks and building societies.

Since our launch in 2000, the organisation has lent over £3 million to more than 3,000 people. Initially providing loans to the most financially excluded people of Salford, we now offer our financial services across a wider area including Oldham, Rochdale, Bolton and Trafford.

We’ve been working with Salford City Council to develop a home improvement and relocation loan package which now has a loan book of almost £4m. Through its sister company SML Homes we are seeking to develop this part of the business with potential opportunities across the North and the Midlands.

We are also looking to reinvigorate our Charitable Trust, which has historically undertaken a range of charitable projects to complement our loans business.

A small, dedicated workforce is supported by an experienced Board who provide strategic guidance. The Board has decided that the time has come to invest in a senior executive to lead, grow and develop the organisation in line with an ambitious strategic plan.

You’ll work with a range of partners including Local Authorities, Housing Associations, ALMOs and voluntary groups to generate new business and attract public and private funding, extending the reach and impact of the organisation, helping deliver people focussed solutions and products to help those who face financial exclusion.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated and committed, with excellent communication and business skills, providing effective staff management and developing policies and procedures as necessary. You will be responsible to the Board, providing clear and concise performance reporting and making proposals for strategic and operational change.

The job description and person specification outline the sort of person we are looking for.
